SAM TEHRANCHI ARCHITECTURE 1996 – 2025
Architecture as a continuous system,
from territory to detail.
My Work developed across infrastructure, housing, and public space.

Rewritten Direction
Sam Tehranchi is an architect working across architecture and urban design as a continuous field.
His work operates at multiple scales—from transportation infrastructure and large urban developments to cultural and residential architecture—investigating the relationship between systems, space, and public life.
He founded Design Core Architects & Urban Designers in Tehran in 2000, leading a body of work that includes major public and infrastructural projects, developed in collaboration with international partners including Hadi Teherani Architects.
Now based in Toronto, his practice continues to engage with architecture as both a technical discipline and a cultural project.

[PRACTICE STATEMENT]
“Architecture and urban design operate as a single field.”
My work engages with scale, infrastructure, and public life.
from large territorial systems to precise architectural interventions.
Developed through experience in Iran (2000–2014) and continued in Toronto, the practice navigates between complexity and clarity—balancing conceptual intent with technical execution.
[APPROACH]
Each project begins with a question of organization:
How does the building operate?
How does it connect to its context?
How does movement, structure, and space become one system?
Rather than isolated objects, projects are conceived as integrated spatial frameworks—capable of adapting to program, use, and time.

[CONTEXT / EXPERIENCE]
Founded Design Core Architects & Urban Designers in Tehran in 2000, leading projects across infrastructure, cultural, and urban scales.
Since 2014, based in Toronto, working within the regulatory and construction frameworks of the GTHA.
Collaborations include international teams such as Hadi Tehrani Architects.
“An architectural practice operating across scales—from urban systems to built form—engaging with complexity, infrastructure, and public space.”
